Registration for Teachers register

Full Workshop Attendee: Teachers receive a masterclass lesson and can observe any part of the workshop. Teachers must enroll as a full workshop attendee in order for their students to sign up for workshop lessons. Teachers must enroll as a full attendee and take a lesson in order to participate in January 2018 Graduation. $100
Auditor: Teachers can come to observe any part of the workshop but will not receive a lesson. $40 daily fee for AASPA Teacher Members; $60 daily fee for non-AASPA Teacher Members. $40-$60


Student Lessons register

Master lesson level 1-3: This is a 20-minute lesson with three students in 1 hour. Please plan to attend for the whole hour to observe the other students. $40 for AASPA Members; $60 non-AASPA Members. $40-$60
Master lesson level 4 and up: This is a 30-minute lesson with two students in 1 hour. Please plan to attend for the whole hour to observe the other students. $60 for AASPA Members; $80 non-AASPA Members. $60-$80
Any parent and/or student can observe lessons on any day free of charge.

Karmalita Bawar

Karmalita Bawar has been teaching the Suzuki Method for over 20 years and currently teaches in her thriving private studio, Piano Basics of Richmond, in Richmond, VA. She is SAA-certified and is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Composition and Theory with her primary instrument being the piano. Karmalita has trained on Suzuki Piano under Dr. Haruko Kataoka, Keiko Ogiwara, Keiko Kawamura, Elaine Worley, Cathy Williams Hargrave, Dr. Karen Hagberg, Linda Nakagawa, and Bruce Boiney.

Her students have performed in 10-Piano Concerts in Matsumoto, Japan and have attended Suzuki Piano Institutes throughout the Unites States. She has hosted many workshops in Richmond and is founder and past president of the Suzuki Talent Association of Richmond.

We are privileged to have Karmalita present a workshop in the Atlanta area for Suzuki piano teachers and other interested pianists.
