Robin Blankenship
Robin Blankenship has 30 years teaching experience, the last 24 years devoted to teaching and studying the Suzuki Method. Her training includes a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from University of West Georgia and study at the Talent Education Institute in Matsumoto, Japan with Dr. Haruko Kataoka, the founder of the Suzuki Piano Basics Method. In addition she participates in frequent Suzuki Piano Workshops and master-classes.
She is a co-founder and past-President of The Atlanta Area Suzuki Piano Association (AASPA), having directed many of its workshops and Concerts. In addition to her private studio, Robin has taught master-classes at Institutes, trained teachers in the Suzuki Method and has judged piano events such as GMTA auditions, Federated, and National Guild of Piano Teachers.
Many of her students continue study with her from pre-school to college and have won gold medal awards and summer camp scholarships through MTNA events. They have performed in Suzuki Piano Friendship Concerts and International Suzuki Method Ten-Piano Concerts in Sacramento, CA and Japan. Her students have been awarded scholarships to major in music in college.
